Our instructors are active professional musicians all of whom have been formally trained. They are passionate about music and want to share their knowledge with others. With each student we take the time to match them with teachers based on learning styles and preferences.

LIAM STANLEY

Guitar - Ukulele - Jazz

Liam Stanley is a young jazz guitarist from Toronto, Ontario. Liam has been playing guitar for over a decade, having studied jazz with Humber alumnus Tristan Clark, and York professors Roy Patterson and Lorne Lofsky. Liam graduated from the York University, School of the Arts, Media, Performance and Design in 2016 with a B.A., Special Honours in Music.

MICHAEL ARTHURS

Saxophone - Clarinet - Flute - Piano

Michael Arthurs earned his Doctor of Musical Arts Degree in composition (jazz emphasis) from The University of Texas at Austin.  Born and raised in Toronto,Ontario, Canada he is also an alumnus of Humber College, ,William Paterson University, and The University of Louisville.

TIFFANY HUMBLE

Piano

Tiffany Humble is a piano teacher with over 10 years experience teaching music to students of diverse ages, abilities, and music genres. Her qualifications include a Piano Performance ARCT diploma from the Royal Conservatory of Music. She also has a bachelor's degree in Child Psychology (University of Manitoba) and a master’s degree from the University of British Columbia. She is currently pursing a PhD at the University of Toronto. While she has an extensive classical background, she also teaches pop, jazz, and rock music alongside classical repertoire, technique, and theory.Tiffany is fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese.

DAVID CLYSDALE

Piano - Jazz Improv (piano)

 David studied music at Berklee College of Music in Boston where he completed his Certificate studying Jazz Improvisation, Electronic Composition & Music Production. He is also a graduate of the University of Toronto in Canada where he studied music and piano at The Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto.

Lana Tse

LANA TSE

Piano - Clarinet

Lana is primarily a pianist, who also plays other instruments, including clarinet and saxophone. She has completed all 10 levels of the Royal Conservatory of Music for piano. She has performed across Toronto including Roy Thomson Hall, Toronto Centre for the Arts and Massey Hall. Lana’s favourite part about teaching is inspiring others and helping them spark their interest for music.  Her lessons include fun, engaging musical activities for beginners. She is experienced in preparing students for RCM examinations.

Tak first started teaching guitar to a friend in high-school when he was 17.

Tak was inspired by the great teachers that he had in my life, who nurtured my musical curiosity and showed me the amazing rewards that music can have.

Now after more than 15 years of teaching and developing his skills, Tak has successfully taught and inspired many students. Tak is continually driven to help students overcome their unique challenges and achieve their goals to become the musician they want to be.

IVAN ZILMAN

Guitar - Bass - Saxophone - Vocal

Ivan Zilman received his Diplome d'Etudes Collegiales-Arts Musique from Vanier College and graduated from Concordia University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts-Music where he was awarded Cum Laude Honours as well as the Loyola Foundation Scholarship. Included among his teachers was the legendary Jazz guitarist Joe Pass.

BOBBY HSU

 Bobby began playing saxophone at 15 after studying violin from the age of eight. He holds a BA Hons. in linguistics from the University of Toronto, and majored in jazz performance at McGill University

Chris received his Bachelors in Fine Arts, specialized honours in music from York University in 2012. While at York, he was awarded a York University Talent Scholarship, one of the Dean’s Prizes for Excellence in the Fine Arts, and the Oscar Peterson Scholarship for excellence in Jazz performance. In his final year, Chris was selected as one of the few participants of Jazz FM 91’s ‘Jazzology’ program.

TASE STOJANOSKI

Violin - Viola  - Piano

 Tase holds a Bachelor of Music degree in classical music from the Music Academy of Sarajevo (University) and is qualified to teach from beginner to professional level. His lessons are both enjoyable and educational. Tase has experience preparing students for violin and piano practical exams of the Royal Conservatory of Music on all levels.

NICK GOSSELIN

Started playing guitar in 2002
Studied under Mike Bourgeois in Moncton 2003-2005.
Played in local bands and taught independently throughout Moncton from 2006-2010.
Went to Dal music from 2010-2016 studied classical guitar under Douglas Reach, Scott Macmillan Jeff Torbert.
Completed my degree in classical guitar performance 2016 recital graded by don Ross.
Continued to teach independently throughout Halifax until moving to Toronto and finding Scarboro music

ALEX FOURNIER

Guitar - Bass - Ukulele

Alex Fournier is a double bassist with an interest exploring his instrument completely. Alex began his musical studies at the University of Toronto under such Canadian masters as Dave Young, Andrew Downing and Jim Vivian. As well, he began studying composition under Andrew Downing and Phil Nimmons, graduating with a Bachelor of Music with honors in 2011. Alex later attended both the Banff Creative Music Workshop and the SIM Workshop in 2013, leading him to a position in the Johns Hopkins University's Peabody Conservatory's Jazz Performance program. Currently based in Toronto Ontario, Alex maintains multiple groups, series and initiatives. Among his projects is his long-form composition/improvisation project Triio, which released it’s premiere recording in June 2019.
